Treating greenhouse roof cleaning water with BioNIQ technology
We recently launched a research project exploring the use of BioNIQ technology for the local, mobile treatment of residues in greenhouse roof cleaning water.
The project is co-funded and coordinated through the Glastuinbouw Waterproof innovation programme by Kennis in je Kas.
The goal is to make the collected wash water suitable for discharge into surface water or reuse as intake water. The research focuses on removing turbidity, any nutrients present, organic matter and cleaner residues.
For the first phase of the project, carried out at laboratory scale, a specially designed smaller version of the BioNIQ system was developed.
